Community Involvement

School Council

The Corowa High School Council is comprised of 8 elected members (two parents from the parent organisation, two parents from the community, three teachers, one non-teaching staff member), 4 appointed members (two community members, two students from the Student Representative Council, and the Principal.

The Role of the School Council is to :

  • Encourage and promote community understanding of the school, enhance the school’s image and to encourage and provide for the increased community involvement in the functioning of the school.
  • Assist and advise the Principal and staff in determining broad school policies, goals and priorities.
  • Assist and advise the Principal in planning and implementing the school budget.
  • Establish policies for the community use of the school facilities and to assist in their implementation.
  • Maintain full communication and consultation with the local community.
  • Foster an education environment which promotes the general well-being and advancement of all students.
  • It meets at least six times per year.

P & C Association

The Parents and Citizens Association is an active and vital part of school life. The P & C meets at 7.30 pm on the second Monday of each month.

Parents and Citizens are actively encouraged to participate in the running of your school’s P & C. 

The School Canteen

The Canteen serves fresh healthy food appropriate for the Healthy Canteens policy. Lunch is ordered before school on bags provided by the canteen,

Book packs for Years 7 - 10 are available at the canteen. The canteen has a good stock of all stationery items, which are available all year.

All profits from the school canteen are used to meet school needs. The school relies on parents volunteering one day/ month /term to assist in the canteen. Please consider helping the school in this way.

Canteen Committee:

All parents are invited to attend Canteen Committee Meetings. These are held on the SECOND Wednesday, bi- monthly, in the Canteen (1.30pm).
