LOTE - Japanese
The study of a language enables students to respond positively to the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly changing world. Students become more accepting of diversity, more respectful of others and aware of our place in the international community.
Building on established community links with Japan, students at Corowa High School are encouraged to be involved with regular exchange visits from Japanese schools. Our students have the chance to host Japanese students and also to visit and study in Japan.
Students acquire communication skills in Japanese and develop an understanding of important aspects of Japanese culture including food, sport, history and the arts.
The 100 hours course is compulsory for all Year 7 students. Japanese may also be offered as an elective subject in Years 9 to 12.
